Happy 2019 dear friends:

December is a busy month for everyone and my intention is to get this note to everyone before the epiphany!

I am very happy to report another successful year at YogaJoy due to the dedication and support of our strong yoga community. On January 12th we will begin our 8th year at our humble studio on Derby Road. Thank you kind friends and yogis who continue to bring their bodies and hearts to classes. Thank you to Barbara, Elly, Ashley and Kathy for supplying wisdom, strength, humour and insight to all of us.

My focus for 2019 is to incorporate more meditation into our practices. By this I mean we will bring into our practice of yoga postures and breath training the practices of meditation and heart/mind training that have always been a part of the true yogi's path. This will help to cultivate awareness of moments in our daily life ~ from washing the dishes or walking a dog to singing in the shower or supporting a grieving friend. We have all been through a lot in 2018. It is supremely important to heal, to find a way to invite a deeper intimacy with our body, breath, heart and mind. With the support of our sangha, we can do it one step, one breath at a time.

I wish you a peaceful and warm new year.

Joyce
