March Newsletter

Dear Friends, A bright and sparkling morning reminds me of the beauty and resilience of our natural world. The red-winged blackbirds and robins have arrived, the pussy willows are blooming and yet the ground is frozen, the ice covers my pond and the wind is cold. None of these new arrivals seems to mind a bit. Like a well trained meditator, nature carries on with determination, not getting swept away by distractions and emotions. According to Ayurveda, we are now moving from the Vata season to the Kapha season which is the season of "prevailing wetness". Plants and animals are coming to life and so should we! We also look forward to our snow bird yogis coming back to Ontario! Studio news includes a new class schedule. Please check www.yogajoy.ca for these changes. Most obvious is the disappearance of Wednesday classes and the Tuesday restorative session. There is also a new Morning Hatha Class on Tuesday @ 9:30. In future we will offer special workshops and classes on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 and these are to be announced. Many of us find that the change of season contributes to both physical and mental disturbances. Altering our diet to include seasonal and nourishing foods along with a consistent yoga practice can be most helpful. Visit one of our classes to experience how. It just may change your life. So long for now. Happy spring to you all. Thank you for your continued support of our little studio. Stay warm, feed your soul and be good to your body. Om Shanti, Joyce
